Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Buraq Travel collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you visit our website, contact us, or book a travel package. Please read it together with our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who We Are
This website is operated by Travel Buraq Global LLC, doing business as "Buraq Travel" ("Buraq," "we," "us," or "our"). For clients booking or traveling from Canada, personal information may also be handled by our affiliated Ontario entity, 100741262 Ltd. References to "Buraq" in this Policy include that affiliate where applicable to Canadian bookings.
Buraq is a travel agency that arranges Umrah, Hajj, and related travel packages, including flights, hotel accommodations, ground transportation, and visa processing assistance. To provide these services, we act as an intermediary between you and third-party suppliers, including airlines, hotels, ground transportation providers, and the Government of Saudi Arabia.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal information:
- Information you provide directly. When you complete our contact form, message us on WhatsApp, email or call us, or book a package, we collect details such as your name, email address, phone number, and the contents of your message or enquiry.
- Booking and traveler information. To arrange a package, we collect information about you and any travelers included in your booking, such as travel dates, package selection, room preferences, and the number of travelers.
- Travel-document and visa information. To arrange travel and process Saudi entry visas, we collect sensitive details including full legal name as shown on the passport, date of birth, nationality, passport number, passport issue and expiry dates, and supporting documentation required by the relevant authorities.
- Payment information. When you pay a deposit or balance, payment is processed by our bank or a third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers on this website; we may retain limited transaction records (such as amount, date, and confirmation reference).
- Information collected automatically. When you use our website, our web server and hosting provider automatically record limited technical data in standard server logs, such as your IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits. We use this information to operate, maintain, and secure the website.
- Information from third parties. If you interact with us through social media platforms (such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn) or messaging services (such as WhatsApp), we may receive information from those platforms in accordance with their own privacy policies and your settings.
3. Sensitive and Travel-Document Information
Some of the information we collect — in particular passport details, date of birth, and nationality — is sensitive. We collect and use this information solely to arrange your travel, submit and support your visa application through authorized government channels, and comply with the requirements of airlines, hotels, and Saudi authorities. We ask that you provide this information only through the channels we direct you to, and not through unsecured public messages.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal information to:
- Respond to your enquiries and provide customer support before, during, and after travel;
- Prepare quotes, confirm reservations, and administer your booking;
- Reserve flights, hotels, and transportation, and prepare and submit visa applications on your behalf;
- Process payments, deposits, refunds, and related transactions;
- Send booking confirmations, travel updates, and other service communications;
- Send marketing or promotional messages where you have not opted out (see Section 10);
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and services;
- Comply with legal, tax, regulatory, and government requirements, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed to provide our services and as described below:
- Travel suppliers. With airlines, hotels, ground transportation providers, and other suppliers necessary to fulfill your booking.
- Government and visa authorities. With the Government of Saudi Arabia and relevant ministries and authorities to process entry visas and meet entry requirements.
- Payment processors and financial institutions. To process payments, deposits, and refunds.
- Service providers. With vendors who support our operations, such as website hosting, IT, and communications providers, who are permitted to use the information only to perform services for us.
- Legal and safety. Where required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Buraq, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6. International Data Transfers
Because our services involve travel to Saudi Arabia and suppliers located in multiple countries, your personal information — including passport and travel-document details — will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries outside your country of residence, including the United States, Canada, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These countries may have data-protection laws that differ from those where you live. Where required, we take reasonable steps to ensure your information is treated securely and in accordance with this Policy.
7. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide our services, maintain business and financial records, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal, tax, and regulatory obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, or alteration. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, update, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Canadian residents. If you are in Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws, including the right to access your personal information and to challenge its accuracy. You may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada regarding a concern.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. We will honor those rights as required by the law applicable to you.
10. Marketing Communications
We may send you promotional messages about packages and offers. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails, replying to ask us to stop, or contacting us directly. We will still send you non-promotional service messages related to your bookings.
11. Third-Party Links and Services
Our website may contain links to third-party websites and services, including social media and messaging platforms. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.
12. Children's Privacy
Our website is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. Where a booking includes a minor, we rely on the accompanying adult making the booking to provide that traveler's information and to have the authority to do so. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
13. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last Updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be posted on this page, and your continued use of our website or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
